Dietary Patterns

A dietary pattern characterises the overall combination and frequency of foods consumed, rather than focusing on a single nutrient. Pattern-level analysis consistently outperforms single-nutrient approaches in predicting chronic disease and longevity outcomes.

Named patterns assessed in Tessier et al. 2025: AHEI, aMED, DASH, MIND, hPDI, PHDI, rEDIH, rEDIP. All eight significantly predicted healthy-aging, with AHEI most strongly (OR 1.86).
