Health Professionals Follow-Up Study (HPFS)

The Health Professionals Follow-Up Study (HPFS) is a US prospective cohort established in 1986 at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, enrolling 51,525 male health professionals aged 40–75 years. It serves as the male companion to the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS).

Like the NHS, HPFS participants complete biennial questionnaires on health and lifestyle, with dietary assessment via validated food frequency questionnaire. Follow-up rate exceeds 90%.
